On day 4 - 6 of the NSS Camp, Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education students went out into the villages to rally and educate on important social subjects such as various environmental issues and the importance of planting trees, importance of education and counteracting the common conception prevalent in these villages that education is not of much use, especially education for females, and the consequences of excessive consumption of alcohol, tobacco or drugs. According to Prasad (2009), in his research paper Alcohol use on the rise in India

“With more than half of all alcohol drinkers in India falling into the criteria for hazardous drinking, alcohol abuse is emerging as a major public-health problem in the country. India's reputation as a country with a culture of abstinence especially in matters regarding alcohol is underserved, say experts. The country, which has seen a rapid proliferation of city bars and nightclubs in recent years, is fast shedding its inhibitions about alcohol as a lifestyle choice.

This situation has led to fears of an undocumented rise in alcohol abuse not only among poorer classes but also in sections of society that were previously considered dry. The health minister has recognised the scale of the problem—and has called for a policy that will regulate sales and the pricing of drink.„

The amazing thing is that after watching the Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education students' enactment of a drunk husband and Dad who spent all his money on drink, many villagers said they would try and quit. As mentioned in a previous post, on day 1 and 2 of the camp, the Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education students rallied and educated on the dowry system, female feticide, population control, and other current issues affecting the area. The local communities in these areas have sheltered lives and are generally uneducated and illiterate, and do not realize that they are amidst complex social problems. The Kripalu Mahila Mahavidyalay students volunteer their time during the NSS Camps to shed light on these issues. The villagers are given advice on how these problems can be minimized and are also educated on how to find the best resolution for these issues.

Every year a 7-Day Special Camp is conducted by Kripalu Mahila Mahavidyalay (KMM), a college established and patronized by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, in coordination with NSS in rural parts of North India for the upliftment of society. This year the NSS Camp is being held from 24th January to 30th January 2012 and the camp is divided into two shifts per day:

• 8am -- 12pm

• 1pm -- 5pm

During these camps, the students of Kripalu Mahila Mahavidyalay educate the villagers on issues such as the dowry system, female feticide, population control, and other current issues affecting the area.

The local communities in these areas have sheltered lives and are generally uneducated and illiterate, and do not realise that they are amidst complex social problems. The Kripalu Mahila Mahavidyalay students volunteer their time during the NSS Camps to shed light on these issues. The villagers are given advice on how these problems can be minimized and are also educated on how to find the best resolution for these issues.

These camps are not only beneficial for the local uneducated communities, but are also beneficial for the students. These young girls acquire knowledge to spread awareness for the upliftment of society, in addition to gaining personal and interpersonal skills such as team work, leadership etc.

For the past few years, NSS students of Kripalu Mahila Mahavidyalay have been going to villages in Kunda, Pratapgarh District, to educate the local villagers on various social issues. Since students have been going to these villages, the cleanliness of the villagers and the overall condition of the villages have improved immensely.

Dr. Suparna Rao pointed out that in rural areas, females are often neglected and are not fed properly, and that this will affect the males of the society as well, by explaining to the local villagers that these same females will give birth to the next generation, which will have a negative impact on the health of males born in the future. On one of the days, the students marched in a rally to increase awareness on the rights to vote.

Vasant Panchami Celebration January 28 & 29, 2012 at Radha Madhav Dham, the main US ashram of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj

Radha Madhav Dham, the main US ashram of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj will be celebrating Vasant Panchami during the evening satsang from 7:30 to 9 pm on Saturday, January 28, and during the Sunday Community Satsang from 11 am to 12:30 pm on January 29.

Vasant Panchami is a popular festival in North India which heralds the arrival of the spring season. Vasant means spring and Panchami is the fifth day of the rising moon. Madhav, another name of Shree Krishn, also means spring.

Vasant Panchami is essentially welcoming the blossoming nature after the harsh winter. Spring is a season synonymous with color, prosperity and blossoms in most parts of India. Kite flying is also a major activity during this day in many parts of the region. Great prominence is given to yellow color as it signifies the ripening of fruits and crops. The mustard fields in North India bloom during this season and look as if Mother Nature is wearing a yellow choonari.

Our deities will be decorated in yellow and we will show some special videos. We will be following the tradition of Braj and also start singing Holi songs from Vasant Panchami.

Everyone is welcome to dress in yellow and join us at Radha Madhav Dham for this colorful and joyous celebration.

Success story at Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Hospitals - Ajay Kumar walks again after 6 years

Ajay Kumar suffered from a severe case of Paralysis from the age of 14, due to which he was bed ridden. For 6 years he relied on his brother, Vijay Kumar, for full support as he was unable to move. His arms and legs were both very stiff to the point that he could not even move out of the bed without support. He could never imagine being able to walk again.

After going to many doctors in Pratapgarh, Allahabad and even Delhi for various treatments, Ajay did not see any signs of improvement in his condition. Belonging to a poor background, his family struggled to continually spend money on his treatments which had not helped with his condition. After spending 2.5 lakh rupees on treatment, Ajay heard about Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya (JKC) - Mangarh, and its 100% free services through a friend.

At Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya (JKP Hospital) -- Mangarh, founded by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, Ajay received Naturopathic treatment from Dr. Amrita Mishra, Physiotherapy treatment from Dr. Santosh Vaijwade and Acupressure treatment/ massage from Dr. Edward Radhey, all free of cost. Together these doctors got Ajay out of a wheelchair and onto his own feet, walking again, happier than ever before. The entire treatment lasted 6-7 months and with continual efforts made by Ajay himself and his doctors, today (23 January 2012) he can be seen walking on his own without any support.

Ajay returned to Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya - Mangarh to thank his doctors and other staff members involved in his treatment at JKC. His family is grateful for what Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya had done for Ajay. If it weren't for the free medicines and free treatments provided by Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya, Ajay would still be in a wheelchair and would not have been able to work in his family business today.

This is one of the many success stories of Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya - Mangarh. Since its establishment in 2003, this 100% Free Hospital has helped change the future of many people who had otherwise lost hope of a normal life.

On 23rd January, at Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya – Barsana, Dr. Sandhya Swami operated on 11 patients admitted for hypermature cataract. This is a cataract in which the lens cortex becomes liquid, with the nucleus gravitating within the capsule.

Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya (Hospital) – Mangarh (22 Jan. 12). Sunday’s at Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya Mangarh is usually a busy day with 4-5 visiting doctors. On this day, Dr. Rajendra Tripathi (Paediatrician) (pictured above) examined 45 children.

Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya (Hospital) (22 Jan. 12) - 358 patients were seen today by the doctors, out of which 219 patients were old and 139 new. 11 patients with hypermature cataract were admitted for surgery. Seen in the photo, Dr. Madhu Kaistha with her patients in the Out Patient Department (OPD). Due to the cold weather, inflow of patients at JKC Barsana have been effected.

On Jagadguru Divas, 2001, the foundation stone of Prem Mandir was laid by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. Devotees surrounding the huge excavation site to witness the event, felt that they were taking part in the spiritual history of the world. “Our whole family had Shri Maharaj Ji's Darshan for the very first time in June 2000. It was the inauguration of Vishva Kalyan Kendra, Rangeeli Mahal in Barsana. A rather unexpected tragic event had us back in India within 6 months. We happened to be in Vrindavan for only 2 days, totally unaware of the historic events that were to unfold before us. Shri Maharaj Ji celebrated Lohri/Makar Sankranti that night and the next day, Jagadguru Diwas, and a huge procession of devotees gathered for the stone laying ceremony of a unrivalled monument to Radha Krishn that would be known throughout the world. At an estimated cost of 75 crore rupees and made of pure Italian marble. "Anyone visiting Vrindavan will have to come here" --- our beloved Prem Mandir !!!

The biggest religious and spiritual complex so far in Vrindavan is coming up at Prem Mandir, established by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. Nandu Baba, the CEO supervising the construction operations at the site told Agratoday.in:

“Work started here on January 14, 2001 and should finish off within a year from now. More than 800 craftsmen, artisans and specialists from various parts of the country have been toiling day and night to create a pure marble temple in the original Som Nath style.”

“The plan and designing work has been done by the famous Suman and Manoj Bhai Sompura from Gujarat. It is a massive marble structure with three feet thick walls, all pure marble and the presiding deity will be Yugal Sarkar.”

The whole area looks as if the quarries from Rajasthan have been brought here. The engineers are using the latest technology available and several new experiments are being conducted for the first time. 30,000 tons of Italian marble have been used in the construction and carved with unique machines like KUKA robotics. The leelas of Radha Krishn and life history of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj are being displayed on the walls of the temple. When complete it could rival the Taj Mahal, says a supporter at the site.

With 2011 winding to a close, here is a post about some of JKP's highlights throughout the year. 2011 was a magnificent year for the devotees of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat. There are so many things to talk about, but here is a summary of a few things that we saw on this blog:

1. Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj gave a glimpse of his kindness and graciousness in June when he gave fruit juice to Baba Ramdev in order to end his painful fast against Government corruption. (More...)

3. Grand and magnificent celebrations with Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj of all the major Hindu festivals which revealed the true meanings of those celebrations. Looking at the pictures, there seems to be hardly any words to describe the nectar of Divine love which poured during festivals like Guru Poornima. (More...)

4. One of the highlights of the year for many devotees (including me!) was a fun and devotional holiday in the cool climate of Mussoorie, a bustling town on the foothills of the Himalayas. We already got to see some glimpses of the sumptuous Christmas feast enjoyed by the poor villagers at Bhakti Dham, Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj's ashram in Mangarh; furthermore there was a Christmas money distribution program at the Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat hospital. With the blessings of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, poor patients got the gift of a smile this Christmas. Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj attests that physical health, and having access to proper nutrition and care is of utter importance because one needs a healthy body to do proper devotion to God.

Uttar Pradesh is India's largest state and sadly, also one of its poorest. Despite recent signs of progress, UP still faces significant challenges in reducing poverty in its various economic and non-economic dimensions and improving security and well-being for all citizens. The poor are a heterogeneous group: they are deprived not only in material terms, but also have low human development, and live in an uncertain and sometimes threatening environment. Lower caste individuals and women face particular difficulties. Poverty is caused by low levels of assets (private, public goods and services, and social capital) coupled with low and uncertain returns. Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat is having an measurable impact on the situation by providing free, state-of-the-art medical care and education for millions of impoverished populations who live in the large catchment radii of the JKP Hospitals in Barsana and Mangarh, and through regular medical camps and mother and child welfare schemes and via JKP Education. Furthermore, a major component of all the religious festivals of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat is to bring some happiness into the lives of the disadvantaged through food and money distribution events. Vision of devotion and joy: Thanksgiving retreat with Siddheshvari Devi (Part 1)

The thanksgiving retreat with Siddheshvari Devi, senior disciple of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj and founder of Radha Madhav Society was among the most well attended and joyous retreats at Radha Madhav Dham so far. An awakening of the great value of Indian culture, heritage and spirituality for kids and parents was received by attending this extraordinary retreat. Kids experienced pride in being Hindu, and the whole family had a new devotional way to share time together.

Siddheshwari Deviji has delighted families every year with her loving and fun filled retreats. At this retreat, families from across Texas enhanced their understanding of Hindu philosophy, and learned how to bring it into their everyday life. They heard thought provoking speeches by Siddheshwari Deviji and got all their devotional questions answered.

Participants also learned how to do roop dhyan, a meditation on the loving form of Radha Krishn, as thought by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. The retreat included activities like yog, nature hikes, outdoor chanting, parikramas and a special Thanksgiving celebration to bring everyone together in enjoyment as one big happy family. The retreat was hosted at Radha Madhav Dham in Austin Texas, the official center of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj in the west.

This was a great opportunity for retreat participants to meet other Indian families who also wanted to enrich their family lives in learning about Hindu spirituality; and to experience the peace and serenity of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj's ashram. The abode of devotional love, beautified by the colour of love!

The colour pink is sometimes referred to as the colour of love. Now the Sadhak Nivas buildings in Bhakti Dham Mangarh (the residential houses which have at least 250 rooms for devotees of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj), have been painted a beautiful soft pink colour. The beatific hue reminds of the pink Jaipur sandstone which encompasses Bhakti Mandir, the temple established by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj in Mangarh, and further inspires devotional love for God in the hearts of the visitors.

On March 12, 2011, I published a post called Establishing a Satsang Hall at Prem Mandir, Vrindavan. I alluded to a similar sadhana hall being established by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj in Mangarh. Here are the latest pictures of the Mangarh Sadhana Hall construction-

The circular shaped sadhana hall in Vrindavan is approx 73,000 square feet with no pillars, and the distance between two walls is about 275 square feet. It will facilitate 25,000 devotees at a time. The sadhana hall in Mangarh seems to be at least that size and will facilitate the growing number of pilgrims to the area, who wish to experience the satsang of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. Both these sadhana halls will encourage devotion towards Radha Krishn to spiritual seekers around the world.

- The University is 4 Km ahead of Nauraj Chowk, On Bhubaneshwar – Banki Road. 2 km ahead of CISF colony.

- From Bhubaneshwar: On Bhubaneshwar – Cuttack Road come to Trisulia Chowk and turn left to Banki. This is a good road, and meets the Bhubaneshwar – Banki Road.

- Otherwise you can come directly by the Bhubaneshwar – Banki Road, which is more crowded and slow.

- From Cuttack: Via Nauraj Road come to the Bhubaneshwar – Banki Road and turn towards Banki.

Time of travel:

1. 50 minutes from Bhubaneshwar Airport and Railway Station. Taxis will be available.

2. 40 minutes from Cuttack Railway Station. Taxis will be available.

Guidelines to participants, for an enriching and comfortable experience at the camp (please read carefully:

1. The vow of silence will be applicable in the Sadhana camp. Sadhaks are requested to strictly follow the vow of silence apart from the chanting of kirtans

2. While sitting in the Sadhana hall, please keep all the kirtan books with you, including Sankirtan Madhuri and the ashram kirtan books. These will be available at the stall.

3. Please wear Radhey Shyami Shawl during Sadhana.

4. Every evening, there will be a cultural program in the service of Shree Maharajji. Talented artists may prepare a suitable devotional dance item.

5. The donation for the Sadhana program is Rs 2000/-. This includes boarding, lodging and sadhana expenses. Please send your seva to the center in-charge latest by December 20th, if you live in India.

6. Accommodation for everyone will be in the Sadhana hall. International guests will be given shared rooms.

7. Being near the bank of River Mahanadi, the temperature drops at night to 10 degrees centigrade. Please come prepared with sufficient warm clothing, and a sleeping bag or two thick blankets.

At the JKP ashrams in India, a 24-hour akhand chanting (continuous, without break) is a special yet familiar occurrence for satsangis. Since 2005, Radha Madhav Dham, the official center of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj in the west, has been offering this same devotional opportunity, and participants come from all over Texas to partake of this special blessing. Beginning at Noon Dec 31st, for 24-hours, devotees chant to over 50 unique tunes of the mahamantra, "Hare Ram, Hare Krishn". Mangarh: In this male dominated world where approximately 927 girls for every 1000 boys are taken out of school early so that they can help in the fields or work as child labourers to support their family. But in a small village, Mangarh, Kripalu Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kripalu Balika Primary School and Kripalu Balika Intermediate College, founded by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj has given girl children every possible opportunity to make their career bright and beautiful and for which an Annual Function, "Utthan 2011", was organized in their collage campus.

The program began with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guests High Court Justice Dilip Gupta, Chief Income Tax Officer G.N. Pandey and Doordarshan General Manager S M Khan. The prize distribution ceremony took place, and these chief guests distributed medals and certificates to the students who topped in their particular class.

After this, the cultural program began with Ganesh Vandana which gave a wonderful start to the program. After this the students of Kripalu Balika Primary School welcomed the chief guests and the parents in their own way. They presented a dance on the song ‘swagatam’.

The next act was ‘Panchmahabhut’ where five elements of the universe i.e water, earth, air, fire and sky were presented by the students of the junior class of Kripalu Balika Intermediate College.

The jungle theme ‘Jungle ki Kahani, apni zubani’ was the next act. Here the students, through their dance form, tried to tell the story of the alarming condition of the environment. It gave the lesson that cutting trees can make living difficult. Killing animals for personal use is immoral and unethical.

Not only this, but the next act ‘Anekta mai Ekta’, where students very gracefully proved the proverb ‘unity in diversity’ - before being a Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian, we are human beings.

To make the environment light, students performed a Magic show where these students very cleverly showed their magic tricks and left the audience mesmerized.

Next performance was a Krishn leela, where students changed the mood and made the audience groove on the oldest lovestory of Krishn and Radha.

After this, the grand finale of the mega event arrived where the students paid huge respect to Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. They expressed in their own way their love and respect for Shree Kripaluji Maharaj who gave these students a platform to showcase their hidden talent in such a small village like Kunda.

In the end, Shree Kripaluji Maharaj thanked the students, the audience and all the people associated with the program. The chief guests also congratulated on the success of the program and wished the student good luck for their future.

How does present day meditation that's taught differ from ancient meditation taught thousands of years ago in India?

Although there are an abundance of different styles of meditation, yet it is unlikely that there is any meditation being taught today which did not have its roots in ancient India. Someone may add their own personal twist to give a different flavor to any particular form of meditation, but the main categories of meditation remain the same as they have always been. The reason is that our mind has two main facets: the intellectual mind and the emotional mind. These are two facets of the same mind. Thus, there are two main categories into which all forms of meditation are divided: intellectual and emotional. Intellectual meditation is done from the brain area; the activity of the mind is focused in the 'head' or 'brain' of the meditator. Emotional meditation is done from the heart area; the activity of the mind is focused in the 'heart' of the meditator.

These two main categories can be further subdivided into more specific kinds of meditation. Intellectual meditation is mainly of three kinds: 1) non-dual meditation (gyan); 2) psychic elevation techniques (includes psychic relaxation techniques, psychic refinement techniques, psychic strengthening exercises, psychic concentration techniques, and psychic unity with a spirit or a celestial being); and 3) yogic techniques (includes hath yog, kundalini yog, raj yog, and seeing the inner light and listening to the inner musical sound). Emotional meditation is divided into two main categories: 1) loving remembrance of the world; and 2) loving remembrance of God. Loving remembrance of anything requires a form to meditate on, because no one can love a formless energy. So emotional meditation on the world means loving remembrance of any worldly person or thing; and emotional meditation on God means the loving remembrance of the personal form of God. Emotional meditation on the personal form of God is further subdivided into those who remember God with any worldly desire that they wish to fulfill, and those who remember God without any worldly desire. Both of these are further subdivided according to the particular form of God upon which the person is meditating.

What is Kripaluji's guidelines for a student in today's world of immorality, corruption and strong mind diverting temptations?

Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj always tells people that they should detach their mind from the world and attach it to Krishn. This applies to all people, regardless of age or living situation. It is true that the association of the people around us has a strong potential to affect our thinking. I understand that it is difficult when you are surrounded by people who do not share the same values as you and try overtly to influence you to adopt the same habits they have. In fact, sometimes it might seem like the whole world is trying to divert our mind towards materiality. Everything, from TV and movies to magazines to billboards to music all tell us that what matters is material indulgence.

In order to live in such a situation and remain firm in one's spiritual beliefs and lifestyle, a strong foundation of tattva gyan (spiritual understanding) is essential. Such knowledge must be kept fresh in the mind by daily review of the most important points related to our life in the world, the aim of our existence, and our relationship with God. That is why it is so valuable to be able to watch the speeches of Kripaluji Maharaj on Sahara Samay, Aastha, Sadhna channels and TV Asia. If one does not have access to these channels, reading and re-reading his book "Prem Ras Siddhant" can help us to keep our tattva gyan strong. We should keep in mind that everything we eat and drink affects the quality of our mind and helps or hinders our spiritual progress. Eating non-vegetarian food, and using drugs and alcohol develops the tamas quality of the mind, which pollutes our mind and obscures our connection with God. Eating healthy vegetarian food and leading an active and disciplined life develops the sattvic quality of our mind, which encourages clarity of thinking and improves our ability to experience our relationship with God.

How to become a devotee of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj

What you need to know about Shree Maharajji is that if you have accepted him in your heart, then he has already accepted you. There does not have to be a formal recognition of that. Shree Maharajji does not do formal initiation, nor is there any need to verbally state that you have accepted him as your Guru. If you have surrendered to him internally, then he is already Gracing you. You should focus on applying his teachings in your life. Practice bhakti exactly according to his instructions. Listen carefully to his speeches and you will hear many other instructions for your daily living. Apply these in your life and you will find yourself coming closer to Radha Krishn and to Shree Maharajji. The more you follow his instructions (which you hear in his speeches and read in his books), the more you will please him.

Although meeting him is not a requirement, it is certainly an amazing opportunity for a soul to meet a real Saint in person. It is a natural desire to want to meet him and speak to him and if you keep following his teachings, then maybe one day you have the good fortune to get his darshan. If you keep listening to his speeches and applying his teachings, a day will come when you will feel that it is very important to meet him and you will go and meet him. I hope that day comes soon for you.

Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya has shared pictures of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj's Nov 17th visit to JKP Charitable Hopital, Mangarh.

Each morning during his residence at his ashram in Mangarh, Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj makes the short trip to the Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya (JKP Charitable Hospital), to the delight of patients, many of whom are seriously ill.

Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj attests that physical health is of utter importance because one needs a healthy body to do proper devotion to God. To this end, proving healthcare without cost or discrimination is a core underpinning of his mission. Patients are comforted by the compassionate and humorous presence of Shree Maharajji as he melts away their worries and concerns.

In this case, the patient was not taking any medications/injections. Then Shree Maharajji came and said so lovingly to him, "dekho beta aisa nahi karte.. hamara kehna manoge nah.." and when the patient continued drinking the water and throwing away the tablets, Shree Maharajji told the doctor to mix the tablets in water and give it to him. The gentleman then drank it, thinking it was just plain water.

Q: When doing devotion, should I chant Radha's name, or the maha mantra? Which is better?

A: As far as what name or mantra to remember, that is a personal choice for you. Every name of God contains His unlimited power. One cannot be said to be more powerful than any other. The same goes for any mantra: the power in the mantra comes from God's name which is in the mantra. So any name of God is a powerful mantra. But of course the name or mantra must be taken with faith (that God is in His name) and along with roop dhyan (remembrance of the form of Radha Krishn, or whatever form of God you are worshiping). In the satsang of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, we chant many names of Radha and Krishn, and we also chant the maha mantra. It is totally up to your personal preference. Just remember to do roop dhyan while you are chanting, and you are on the right track. Roop dhyan is the term Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj uses to describe thinking of the form of Radha Krishn, which also includes thinking of Their abode, leelas, qualities of Their personality, etc.

JKP Education reports that awards were given at Bhakti Dham, Mangarh to the children for the year 2010-11. 77 students from Kripalu Balika Primary School (KBPS), 147 students from Kripalu Balika Inter College (KBIC) and 68 students from Kripalu Mahila Mahavidyalaya received medals for 1st-3rd positions in various competitions throughout the school year. Sarita Yadav's Story of Success at JKP Hospital

Sarita Yadav, daughter of Sadhan Lal Yadav - resident of Bhat Poorva Baraha Khiru, Lal Ganj, Vaiswara District, Rae Bareli - came to Jagadguru Kripalu Chikitsalaya (Hospital) Mangarh at the age of 13 years on 07-10-11 with a case of Juvenile Cataract due to which she suffered from complete blindness for 7 years. At the age of 6, she started losing her vision and had to leave her studies. According to her mother, she couldn’t even see her plate of food that was put in front of her and would stretch her hands looking for it.

After being examined by Dr. Bijayanand Mohanty, MS – Ophthalmology, she was selected for operation on both of her eyes by Dr. Govind Paudyal, MBBS, MD (Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon) during the cataract workshop. Hence on 8th November, 2011, Sarita’s right eye was operated and after seeing the success of the operation, the surgeons proceeded to operate her left eye on 9th November 2011... News report by Aaj Ki Kahabar on the free, 3 day cataract camp at Jagadguru Kripalu Hospital, Mangarh from 7-9 November 2011. On day one, a total of 208 patients were operated on by 2 surgeons - a record breaking result. On day 2, a total of 204 patients were operated on by 2 surgeons. The most modern, state-of-the-art equipment was used in this camp, and in all, more than 600 people were treated in just three days. Skilled doctors were invited from all over the country.

According to Dr Mohanty, he feels grateful to be a part of such a camp as he got an opportunity to help the poor and needy people. Being a citizen of Orissa, Dr Mohanty feels that it is just Shree Kripaluji Maharaj that gave him the strength to visit the place everytime he is invited. This camp was also held in March, and now in November where people gathered to get a free cataract checkup.

Aaj Ki Khabar says that for over 65 years, Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj has continued to tirelessly bless and instruct thousands of souls seeking the realization of Divine love. Jagadguru Kripalu Charitable Hospitals reminds us that the Mangarh hospital is celebrating its 8th Anniversary today!

Jagadguru Kripalu Charitable Hospital provides free, round-the-clock services of a general and orthopedic surgeon, gynecologist, emergency services and an intensive care unit (ICU). All medical personnel donate their services. The hospital is equipped with state of the art imaging and lab equipment and an in-house 24-hour pathology lab. All treatment including medication is provided free of charge to local residents. The Trust also regularly runs National Eye Camps and Mother-Child Welfare Programs, offering free cataract surgeries and free vaccinations in rural areas where they are most needed.

The aim of all JKP’s charitable projects is one of devotion and dedication: to serve the community by providing free medical care and thereby bringing happiness and hope to others, and to find joy in devotional service.
