Sarkar Maaf Ho Gustaakhi - A beautiful qawwali by Shree Kripaluji Maharaj

Qawwali composed by Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj
Recent pic of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj at Bhakti Dham, Mangarh

Beautiful qawwali revealed by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj which I got to hear being sung during the Mangarh Sadhana Program in January. Press the play button above to listen to a clip - if you are reading by email, visit the blog to listen. Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj is among the best composers of qawwal of our time; and as well as his amazing and unique use of language, these qawwali uniquely foster the deepest feelings of love for Radha Krishna in anyone who listens to them. A selection of other qawwali's by Shree Maharajji, sung by Swami Nikhilanand, are available in a previous post - click here to watch and listen.

Sarkar maf ho gustakhi, kuch khoti khari sunata hun
My Lord, forgive my rudeness, but I am going to tell you something very bluntly

Main tera hum tera ho kar, dar dar ki thokar khata hun
I am Yours yet I am wandering here and there suffering abuse in the world

Tu samarath varis hai phir bhi, lavaris main kaihlata hun
You are my almighty guardian, yet I am known as an orphan

Tu vyapak har zarre mein hai, par didar na tera pata hun
You pervade each and every particle yet I cannot see You anywhere

Hai karam tera mujh par behad, yah bhi anuman lagata hun
I do realize that you have been extremely merciful to me

Par is chanchal man par rahavar, adhikar nahin kar pata hun
But my Lord I am unable to gain control over my restless mind

Mana mein raihati duniyadari, bagula sa dhyan lagata hun
My mind is full of worldly affairs and my meditation is like that of a crane (standing on one leg, seemingly meditating in water but really is trying to fool the fish and make a meal out of it)

Tujh ko khush karane ki kharir, aansu bhi nahin bahata hun
I do not ever shed tears with the purpose to please You

Kar nazare-inayat karunakar, main maya se ghabarata hun
O Shyamsundar! Cast Your merciful glance towards me and grace me as I am very afraid of Your maya shakti

Jhutha hi sahi par nam 'Kripalu' le kar tujhe bulata hun
Says Shree 'Kripalu' (in the words of a devotee), I may be an imposter, but still I do call out to You as my savior
