Part 2 will be posted tomorrow! Pictures owned by Mr. Sharad Gupta, a sevak and disciple of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj.

Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj in Jaipur yesterday

Shree Maharajji said-
"I have made a doha for the New Year’s gift:

Hari Guru Chintan Sadhana
Sadhya Prem Nishkaam
Divya Daras Ki Pyas
Nit Baarhe Aanthon Yaam

Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj arriving in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Dec 27th 2012 amid great fanfare

Hari Guru Chintan Sadhana:

There is no other spiritual practice like karm, gyan or yog which could take one to God. The ritualistic actions (karm) take one to the celestial abodes and get exhausted; it cannot go beyond that. Similar is the case with yog. Gyan takes one to the level of self-realization, but it cannot lead to Brahmgyan, God realization. The only way to attain Brahmgyan is the remembrance of God and the guru. And remembrance is done through the mind. Verbally repeating the names of the Lord won’t help. Any spiritual discipline practiced with the mere sense organs is just a physical drill. Only remembrance through mind is the sadhana. Lord Brahma thoroughly analyzed the Vedas three times, meaning he contemplated the Vedas three times and came to the conclusion – Remember the Lord. External worship, reading the holy texts, chanting, etc. will not help, as these include only the sense organs. All the impurities reside in the mind and we need to cleanse the mind. There are various worldly techniques to purify the eyes, nostrils, ear, the limbs etc. but to cleanse the mind there is only one way – Remember God and the guru.

Hence, remembering God and guru is the sadhana, spiritual discipline that we need to practice.

Sadhya Prem Nishkaam:

Now what is the goal that we are seeking for by doing this sadhana? Divine love. Divine Love is a power of God. It is something which cannot be done, and it doesn't happen of its own either. Some foolish people have made a poetry which says – Love just happens; love cannot be done. But the Divine Love, which is our goal, neither can be done by us, nor it just happens of its own. Had it happened of its own, why would we be roaming around the 8.4 million species? But the sadhana of remembering God and guru is done by the mind, and our mind is material. How far could the mind go? The mind can go as far as there is the reign of maya. So how could we attain God by remembering Him through this material mind? The mind cannot enter the realm of God. The Vedas say that a person cannot attain God even if he keeps contemplating through his mind for millions of eons, because the contemplation of the mind is material. The Ramayan says that God is beyond the senses, mind and intellect. Then why should we engage in such remembrance? We should remember God and guru to cleanse the mind. We need to cleanse the mind of all its impurities like our material attachments, relationships etc. Our attachments are of two types. First is the attachment to the lifeless material objects like food items etc and second is the attachment towards the sentient beings like our parents, spouse, children, grandchildren and the like.

Divine discourse by Shree Kripaluji Maharaj in Jaipur, yesterday

So our mind moves around amongst these very things. Then how do we get rid of these impurities? For this we need to remember God and the guru. We should think and decide – God and guru alone are mine. By repeatedly thinking in this way, all the impurities will be washed off and our mind will become pure. But at this point also we will not attain God. Only our mind will be cleansed. In other words, the container is cleansed, but milk will be attained only through His grace. The Divine Love is a power of God. It is the most personal power of God. It is such a power that God Himself remains under its control; it’s such a power. Meaning, it is greater than God. God says – I am under the control of love. People say I am totally independent, but this is not true. God is the Father of our primal ancestor Lord Brahma, but no one is the father of God. Sage Narad said that God has no father. All the Vedas and scriptures say so, but God says – This is not true; there is something which is greater than Me. What is that? It is love. You must have heard of the legends of how the illiterate rustic forest-dwelling gopis treated the Supreme God!"
