Personal request: End the year with a generous gift to the widows of Vrindavan

Radhey Radhey, this blog is run on a completely voluntary basis. I haven't asked for any donations before, and the blog doesn't even have a single commercial advertisement. However, I decided to make a special request to all blog readers this holiday season to end the year with a generous gift of warmth to the widows of Vrindavan. Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj keeps doing all this amazing work for the widows of Vrindavan, regardless of who contributes or not. Anything which we can give can only be for our benefit. If all of our blog readers dug deep into their pockets, it would immensely improve the lives of these women, who have basically been forgotten by their families and society and live like ghosts. If we don't have the will to reach out to them, who will? Search this blog for 'Widows' for a glimpse of just a fraction of the kindness Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj has shown to these widows.
- David.

Why you should donate?

Vrindavan is home to thousands of widows who are abandoned by their families and society, and are expected to spend the rest of their lives, after their husbands' death, praying for release from the cycle of birth and death. These widows are subjected to much humiliation, and are denied even essential human rights, such as shelter, food, security, health and dignity. Please read this article published by The Hindu earlier this year, on how these woman are denied dignity even in death [Read Here]. In death, these ladies, who live at Government run ashrams, are put into plastic bags and picked up during garbage collection. While alive, most of them have to beg to supplement their meager daily "earnings" of 0.14 USD for eight hours of chanting at local temples. With winter fast approaching, warm blankets and clothing can become a lifesaving gift for them.

Make Your Year-End Donation Today

Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat, India, is raising funds to gift the warm blankets, warm clothing and money to thousands of abandoned widows and the impoverished blind women, living in Vrindaban, before the end of 2012. So, I urgently ask that you, all our blog readers, open your hearts and make your contributions today.

Give and You Shall Receive Tenfold

The holiday season is the perfect time to provide for those less fortunate than ourselves. Give the gift warmth to the poor and destitute women who struggle to stay warm as the winter chill cuts through their inadequate pieces of clothing. Our scriptures tell us, "A soul reaps the fruits of good actions. Whatever you give in charity, comes back to you as prosperity." So give the gift of giving, the gift of caring, and the gift of sharing... so you can receive back these gifts and see your own joys multiply this Holiday Season.
