Day 3 of 15 of bhakti yoga lectures and kirtan by Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj's pracharak

Report for day 3 of 15 by Pooja Sharma, a devotee and sevak of Shree Kripaluji Maharaj who is attending all 15 days:

Continuing the series, The 3 Paths to God: Karma, Gyan and Bhakti, Swami Nikhilanand ji, pracharak of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, gave a humorous and captivating speech on the path of gyan. The examples and stories that Swamiji gave had the audience laughing and relating to everything he said. He explained very clearly that gyan by itself as theoretical knowledge can be dangerous and develops an ego. Gyan that is practically applied in everyday life is beneficial to a soul, yet there are two types of experiential gyan. One is praised and the other denounced, both of which will be discussed on day 4

Day 4 of 15 of bhakti yoga lectures and kirtan by Shree Maharajji's pracharak

The report for day 4 was:

Tonight, Swami ji explained the true path of gyan which to even begin you must be fully detached and have no desires. How many of us are at that level or even know anyone like that? He taught us that gyan on its own can only take a soul ultimately as far as atma gyan (knowledge of self). Gyan cannot on its own remove us from the last two veils of maya (the material energy) for that you need God's Grace, because maya is running by God's power so it is equal in power. The Gyani who reaches atma gyan and feels he has overcome maya is a fool, and maya will one day pull him back in the world. The gyani who surrenders to God by doing bhakti is praised in our scriptures. He becomes liberated forever and is a gyan yogi. So just like how the path of karma is incomplete without bhakti so is the path of Gyan. Without the surrender to God a soul cannot pass the unlimited ocean of maya. Once the gyan yogi is God realized he attains the impersonal form of God, yet the bhakti yogi attains the personal form of God. Both the gyan yogi and the bhakti yogi do bhakti. So, what is the better way of worshiping God? This will be answered on day 5.

On day 3 and 4, Swami Nikhilanand also led some beautiful and lively qawwali and kirtan revealed by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. In the following qawwali, Lakhon Mehfil Jahan Men Yun To, a devotee addressing Shree Krishna says:

Although there are thousands of religious sects and many gods and goddesses that a soul can associate with, there is no comparison to associating and surrendering to You

Oh my beloved Krishna! There are thousands of gatherings the world over, but none compares with Yours.

Whether the king of the celestial abodes, Indra, or a pauper, everyone is treated equally by You.

The one who knows the truth of Your Divine personality, can’t find happiness from anyone or anything but You.

If some exhausted soul who has been rotating in the 8.4 million species of life comes knocking at Your door,

You give him the sweet nectar of Your Divine glance to drink, and this nectar is impossible to explain in words, yet its effects are impossible to hide from the eyes of the world.

You say that You alone are ours and that we should form all our relationships only with You.

There is no bigger fool than the one who knows this and still fails to love You.

Those who live and die for You, and who remain in the fire of feeling separation from You…

Oh, Krishna, they have full faith that You are merciful, never merciless.

He who becomes addicted to Your Divine love nectar, finds even God’s almighty Vaikunth abode bland and tasteless in comparison.

He who drowns in the ocean of Your  Divine  love never again surfaces, for there is a whirlpool in this ocean and no shore.

In love there is only the desire to give and give; a true lover never thinks of taking anything.

One who desires something from the Beloved is ignorant, and is certainly not a Rasik Saint of Braj.

The only thing you have to do is accept Him as yours and learn to long for Him.

He will embrace You. He is seated in your heart and noting your thoughts and feelings.

Give me just a drop of Your Divine nectar to drink. Will your treasure decrease if you give me this much?

After receiving Your love if a soul leaves You, there is no one as foolish as he.

Serving Him selflessly is true action, and being happy in His happiness is true dharma.

Put the reins of your life in His hands. After all, He is not a miser. He is ‘Kripalu’ (the unconditional and unlimited giver of Divine  grace).

Singing Lakhon Mehfil Jahan Men Yun To - A qawwali
by Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj

Regarding this qawwali, Pooja commented:

At Swamiji's program there was such a joy while everyone sung Lakhon Mehfil. There was not one person who didn't clap and sing along with Swamiji. Many people even after the program could be heard humming the tune of the kirtan

Aisi Pila De Saki - Another qawwali of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj

To everyone's joy, Swami Nikhilanand led yet another qawwali called Aisi Pila De Saki, which has also been revealed by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. In this qawwali, a devotee is saying:

Oh, Saki! Make me so intoxicated with the divine wine of Your love that I will accept You as mine, without being concerned if You have accepted me or not.

My Lord! Intoxicate me with Your grace-filled glance in such a way that I will be able to see You and only You.

For You, it is only a matter of a glance; what will You lose by doing this? Grace me so that I may forget the entire world.

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj says in the words of a devotee, "I will sit at your doorstep til the end of time, loudly proclaiming, You alone are mine! You alone are mine!"

Hain Banko Sundar Shyam
Finally, Swamiji led another kirtan by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, in praise of Banke Bihari called Hain Banko Sundar Shyam. Swami Nikhilanand explained that Banke has dual meanings - his body is tedha (crooked, bent in three places). His leelas are also tedha. Swami Nikhilanand distinguished between the leelas of Bhagwan Ram, Who stands straight and Whose leelas are also straightforward and follow the path of dharma to the letter and Shree Krishna, who is naughty and playful.
