Radha Krishna, along with Sita Ram, are the crown jewels of Prem Mandir
The Janmashtami celebrations on August 10th, 2012, at Prem Mandir, Vrindavan were absolutely beautiful! Almost a quarter of a million devotees and visitors came to Prem Mandir on that day. The spiritual vibrations could be felt all the way from my bedroom, on the west coast of Ireland, as I watched the celebrations on 14 different channels and Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj's Divine Janmashtami speech on Aastha channel. Here is a summary of events. More information and pictures are available at Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat - Official facebook page.
In the spirit of Krishna Janmashtami, "Radhe Radhe" lit up the gardens of Prem Mandir, as well as the hearts and minds of everyone there
Scenes of Krishna's childhood captivated everyone and brought them into the mood of Krishna Janmashtami
Baby Krishna being brought to safety after having escaped from prison
One of the highlights of the program was the abhishek to baby Krishna. Baby Krishna was bathed in the 5 sacred substances, milk, yogurt, ghee, sugar and honey
Vedic rituals and arti to baby Krishna were performed by Ghanshyam Das, the eldest son of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj
Prem Mandir was exceptionally beautifully lit up for the occasion
At 6.30pm, August 11th, 2012, Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj was seated on the forecourt of Shree Prem Mandir. Surrounded by Saints and Mahatmas representing all the religious traditions of India from the Jagadguru Nimbarkacharya tradition to the Jagadguru Shankaracharya tradition, Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj delivered his historic, nectarean discourse called "Krishna Tattva". It was to be his first ever discourse at Prem Mandir. In such a blissful and flower-decorated setting, it was easy to be reminded of Shree Kripaluji Maharaj's position as Jagadgurutam and Nikhil-darshan-samanvaya-acharya (the supreme acharya of this age who reconciled the philosophies of all the Darshan Shastras and the previous Jagadgurus). There is a universality and unity in his philosophy which is beyond any religious tradition, and includes every religious tradition, and appeals to, and can be adopted by, people of all religions in India and worldwide. Amazingly, everyone can see their own religion in Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj's lectures and writings, but in a sweeter, clearer, more relatable and more practical form, be it any of the sampradaya of India or as in my case, Catholicism.
So that everyone could feel included in this momentous occasion, the speech was displayed on large screens throughout the Prem Mandir campus and the speech was broadcast live on 3 TV channels. In everything he does, Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj includes the maximum number of people. Everyone, whether good or bad, Saint or sinner, rich or poor, intelligent or gudda, is made to feel as if they are personally part of things. This speech was no exception.
Aaj Ki Khabar news aired a video clip of the event. Here it is:
