Prem Mandir Vrindavan monthly visitor count surges to half million in June 2012

Update: 80,000 - 90,000 visitors a day at Prem Mandir in August, 2012 (Read more)

The incredibly beautiful Prem Mandir Vrindavan has been drawing large crowds since its inauguration in February 2012.  251,050 visitors came in April,  368,684 in May and 566,199 in June and more and more people are coming each day. To put it in perspective, Taj Mahal in Agra gets 2.4 million visitors a year. If the monthly visitor count of Prem Mandir increased no further (not likely, since it has been doubling each month), it would average almost 7 million visitors a year. If the visitor count continues to grow at the current rate, and as the Prem Mandir complex and surrounding infrastructure continues to develop, the count will soon reach 1 million+ visitors per month. This temple will stand for thousands of years, inspiring the souls to reach the ultimate aim of their life and guiding them on that path.

I had the great fortune of visiting Prem Mandir a few days ago while Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj was there. It was amazing to see so many people, many of whom had been drawn to the holy land of Vrindavan just to witness the beauty Divinity of this temple. Some people were sitting, moved and crying, overwhelmed by the mystical charm of the temple, the necterean chanting, the life-like darshan of the deities of Radha Krishna and Sita Ram. Others were reading the amazing Divine inscriptions on the walls. Others were taking inspiration from the beautiful 3-D depictions of great saints and the Jagadgurus of Indian history. And others, including me, were enjoying delicious lassi and chole mature (I think that's how you spell it!) at the amazing Prem Mandir canteen, which has been renamed to Yugal Vihar Upahaar Grah.

When Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj arrived, the crowds swelled from throughout Vrindavan, and surrounded him as he visited the temple. Afterwards, there was kirtan outside the temple.

Prem Mandir is so unbelievable that you have to see it to understand. It is the very life and soul of Vrindavan. There is so much to see and do at Prem Mandir, that you don't feel the need to go anywhere else in Vrindavan. One thing is for sure, that Prem Mandir is the first stop for every single vistor to Vrindavan - and also the last stop for most. Open to all, there is no cost or any kind of restriction of entry. In a recent poll by India's top tour operator, Southern Travels, 65% of respondents voted Prem Mandir as their favourite monument in India; with 27% voting Taj Mahal.

Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat facebook page is always sharing the latest pictures from Prem Mandir and Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. Here are some glimpses:
