In previous years, thousands of people from around Texas and the rest of America gathered at Radha Madhav Dham, the main US ashram of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, to joyously throw gulal (colored powder) on their family and friends.

We will begin this year’s celebration in the Shree Raseshwari Radha Rani Temple prayer hall at 3:00 p.m. with very lively Braj-style Holi songs, and pravachan by Swami Nikhilanandji, disciple and pracharak of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, on the “Spiritual Meaning of Holi.” In a previous speech on Holi, he told us, “We can ask God for His love, His Grace, His Vision. Loving Krishn is easy. He is approachable. He is not only God, He is your true friend.” Thus, remembering His Loving leelas, Krishn reveals the message to every soul, “Think of Me, Love Me, and come play Holi with Me!’”

At the end of the Temple program, everyone is invited to enjoy delicious dinner prasad. After the meal, we will gather on the Maharas Mandal, throwing gulal and dancing to live Holi songs. Be prepared for red, yellow, green and purple color flying through the air. Perhaps even Krishn will come to join in the play, riding on someone's shoulders!

As the sun sets behind a beautiful Texas horizon, the traditional Holi fire will be lit to remind all of us how much God loves and protects all His devotees, just as Prahlad was protected.

“I have attended many Holi celebrations in the past here at my temple in Austin, and every year is different,” said Ritu of Dallas. “Last time there were a lot of families with children. There is such a need to provide our youth with the cultural traditions, and Radha Madhav Dham is such a place.”
