For the spiritual upliftment of the world, Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj has laid the foundation stone of the Mandir to Kirti Ma, the mother of Radha Rani, at Barsana Dham, India. The main deity of the Mandir will be Kirti Ma holding baby Radha in her arms. Radha Rani is not depicted in her child form anywhere else in the world.

Here are some latest pictures of the Temple:

JKP Shyama Shyam Dham Ashram Vrindavan, founded by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji MaharajYesterday, Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, our Shree Maharajji, announced that he would go to Vrindavan for the night. Taxis filled with devotees followed alongside from Barsana Dham to the JKP Shyama Shyam Dham ashram. In the evening time, we had beautiful satsang with Shree Maharajji, to the backdrop of a magnificantly decorated stage ready for Janmashtmi.

Early next morning, Shree Kripaluji Maharaj took us all on a picnic to JKP Jagadguru Dham (established by H.D. Swami Prakashanand Saraswati) where we enjoyed lively kirtan followed by a snack of samosas and sweets. After some more kirtan, and after Kripaluji Maharaj made several house visits, we all returned back to Barsana Dham.

With the temples, monuments and leela places of Radha Krishn, Vrindavan is alive with their presence.

Clad with black granite, it has two large dormitories on both sides of the spacious satsang hall and rooms for preachers and the devotees. There are also over 100 rooms which have been made for the devotees who come to attend the satsang of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj.

Kripaluji Maharaj is currently residing at Rangeeli Mahal Ashram (Pictures)

Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj is currently residing at Rangeeli Mahal Ashram, Barsana Dham, India. Barsana Dham has become so grand and luscious, and the warmth of devotional vibrations have become more vivid and devotional than can I ever remember.
The beauty of Barsana Dham is matchless, wonderful, inspiring. Since Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj is currently in residence here, I thought I'd share some pictures which were taken just recently of the surrounding area:

*Prem Sarovar ("the pond of the nectar of Divine love").
It was an important pond in Braj during the descension of
Radha Krishn and is located just a short walk from Barsana Dham village.
To add new charm to leelas, many times Krishn would disguise
Himself and meet Radha at Prem Sarovar. Hundreds of such leelas
happened near Prem Sarovar and continue to happen there.

Radha Kund Barsana Dham

(Foreground:) *Radha Kund is located between Gahvarban forest and Radha’s palace on Barsana Hill. Just a short walk from her temple, Shree Radha used to come to bathe or play here with the Gopis and Krishn. Often, they would all sit together as the Gopis sang of Radha’s and Krishn’s glory or they would decorate a swing and swing Radha or they would dance in playful, loving raas.

(Background:) *Once Radha came to a place on Barsana Hill not too far from her palace, up on a hillock just above Radha Kund. There were a few Gopis with Her and the weather was fair with
just a few rain clouds shading the rays of the sun —just the kind of weather peacocks like. Soon a peacock came and, delighted to find Radha Rani there, he began to dance for Her.
Slowly other peacocks came until there were thousands of peacocks dancing for Shree Radha among the flowering trees and creepers.
After a short time, Krishn came and watched the enchanting beauty of the whole scene mesmerized by Radha’s beauty as She enjoyed the dance. Then He thought, “Why can’t I become a peacock and dance right in front of Radha Rani?” So He became a peacock. Of course He was the most charming and skilled of the peacocks and in His delightfully naughty way, He pushed Himself right to the front. Then He danced and danced for His Radha Rani, absorbed by Her love. The place of this leela is called Mor Kuti.

My travels have brought me back to Bhakti Dham, Mangarh, the birthplace of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. The Krishn Janmashtmi celebrations culminated here last night with one of the most magnificant fireworks display I have ever seen. But how were the fireworks of love for Radha Krishn in the hearts of the faithful, I can only guess from the expressions on their faces.

From the early morning until he goes to bed, Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj is among the devotees showering the nectar of Krishn love in many ways. Sometimes he is playfully talking with the devotees, sometimes he is giving darshan, sometimes he is walking among the devotees in the satsang hall and giving them a feeling of closeness with him, sometimes he is introducing a new line of chanting, sometimes he is giving a devotional speech, and so on. Chanting of the names, virtues and the leelas is always going on wherever Shree Maharajji stays.

You have already had a glimpse of Barsana and Vrindavan; and seen some photos of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj 's visit to JKP Barsana Dham, USA (http://shree-kripaluji-maharaj.blogspot.com/2008/08/precious-memories.html). Swami Prakashanand Saraswati's Janmashtmi Message (from a previous year's discourse):

Krishn Janmashtmi is a very auspicious night for those who really desire for God realization. It is the day when the supreme Divine power appeared on this earth.

It seems unbelievable that the creator of almighty God appeared in a province, in a village in India. If you try to intellectualize this, your mind will fail. It will never be able to comprehend it. He has great compassion for all the souls, so He appeared to help the souls. He appeared among us. And what did He do? He did everything to help us.

In Divine love, the Gopis loved Krishn any way they liked. Mother Yashoda loved baby Krishn. His playmates played with Him in the way they liked. Krishn never showed He was superior to them. He showed equality. Always He was thinking, “How can I give more and more love?” In this way, Krishn revealed the beauty, charm, and intensity of Divine love on this earth, as long as Krishn lived in Braj. There are a few instances…

Once Krishn was playing outside. He came running and rushed to His mother because He was hungry. But Mother Yashoda was going to do some housework. Krishn said, “Mum, Mum, I want curd, butter.” Mother said, “No, I’m working. Go out and play. Come after half an hour.” This was the scene. Young Krishn is pulling His mother’s sari, and trying to see into her eyes. Children know if they look into their mother’s eyes, mother will do what they want. They know her weakness. Mother also knows her weak part. Krishn is trying to look in His mother’s eyes and Yashoda is trying to avoid looking in Krishn’s eyes. With one hand, Yashoda is trying to keep Krishn away from her sari, and says while looking the other way, “Go and play! I’ll give you curd afterwards.”

There were some Gopis (maidens of Braj) there. The Gopis couldn’t say anything because after all, the mother of Krishn has more authority, and she was liked as the queen of Braj. But the Gopis were thinking, “If mother could do her work afterwards and take Krishn in her lap now, it would be better.” But, Mother Yashoda didn’t want it that way.

At this time, Sage Narad arrived. When he saw this scene he couldn’t believe his eyes or ears. “What am I seeing? O, Yashoda, the Vedas state that God is supreme, and a devotee is humble. A devotee always wants to reach God, but here I am seeing the reverse! Who is greater? Who is smaller? I can’t decide. I know Krishn is the supreme form of God and Yashoda is a Divine personality, yet the supreme God is trying to go into the lap of Mother Yashoda, a Saint. Things have become reversed! I never heard of such a meditation or devotion or worship in the Vedas which can make the supreme form of God as humble, as loving, as devoted as I am seeing now in Braj.” He said a few prayers, kept on looking at that beautiful scene of surrender where the supreme form of God surrenders to a Divine personality.

There are hundreds and thousands of Krishn leelas. All the actions of Krishn are done out of His Grace, done with only one ambition – to help the living beings. Such actions are called leelas. In all the leelas of Krishn, from His appearance to His disappearance, He only showed His love. How humble, loving and devoted He was to all the Brajwasis, to a Gwalbal or friend, or to His mother, or to a Gopi. Whoever was in Braj, He tried to give maximum love. He was trying to serve the Brajwasis.

What did the Brajwasis do? Nothing. They just loved Krishn whole-heartedly, nothing else. Neither Gopis, nor Gwalbals, nor Mother Yashoda, nor Nandbaba (his father), not a person in Braj did any kind of meditation, austerity, devotional rituals, nothing. They only did one thing, surrendered their heart, soul and mind for Krishn. They accepted Krishn as their Divine beloved, that’s all.
Bolo Kanhaiya ki, Jai!
Barsana Dham ki, Jai!
Shree Kripaluji Maharaj ki, Jai!
Jai Shree Radhey!

Back at Barsana Dham, India, we have just finished a most enjoyable Rakcha (Raksha) Bandhan celebration with our Guru, Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. I will tell what happened in a day or two, so make sure to check back...

Meanwhile, we are all getting ready here for the magnificant celebration of Krishn Janmashtmi with Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj.

Janmashtmi is the appearance day of Bhagwan Krishn. He appeared at midnight of the eighth waning moon which falls in August/September. This is one of the greatest celebrations of the Hindu community which is observed throughout India and at the ashrams of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. In the Temples of Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, devotees will sing and chant the glories and the leelas of Krishn up to midnight. Then they do arti of Krishn and distribute prasad.

In Vrindaban there are a number of professional groups who enact the leelas of Radha Krishn on the open stage. The stage of the Satsang Hall of Shyama Shyam Dham (a Vrindavan ashram of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj) is specially displayed every year with the childhood events of Krishn and great crowds come to have its darshan.

At JKP Rangeeli Mahal, Barsana Dham, in the elaborately decorated Satsang Hall, Janmashtmi will be celebrated by thousands of devotees of Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj. A lovely cradle of baby Krishn is to be lovingly placed in the Satang Hall and everyone will have the opportunity to have darshan and swing the Divine child.

Throughout the day and up to midnight, devotional programs will be arranged which include one act plays and dances related to Radha Krishn leelas. Chanting of Krishn leelas and the pad of His appearance, special arti of baby Krishn and the discourse of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, explaining the importance of Janmashtmi in a devotee’s life, will highlight the celebration. On the occasion of Krishn Janmashtmi, Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj himself does the arti of Shree Krishn.

Evening Discourse by Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj and His Arrival in Kishangarh

Rain cascaded like celestial rivers and lightening bolted with unyielding ire on Monday night in Rajasthan, but inside Radha Govind Dham's overflowing satsang hall, the faithful were seated in pindrop silence as Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj delivered a powerful and meaningful discourse.

Seated on an asan decorated with flowers and fine cloth of striking colours, Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj's discourse was highly anticipated from the onset. Bejeweled with sanskrit verses and sharp logic, Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj's discourse discussed the eternal question of why we desire happiness and how to find it.

It would be the last night at Radha Govind Dham because next morning, buses filled with devotees travelled to the nearby city of Kishangarh where Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj was greeted with a most unique welcome.

Visably affected and smiling in adoration on the arrival of their beloved Master, devotees at the Kishangarh ashram greeted Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj with hearty welcoming songs. Local devotees took turns to dance for Shree Kripaluji Maharaj in impromptu style, to his sweet amusement as he jestfully beckoned them to dance more and more and more.

The Kishangarh ashram is a beautiful building with large open spaces and decororated white marble flooring and attractive furnishings. Jigsawed with the ashram building is a beautiful covered garden with plants with leaves of various green nuances and charming textures. A delicate breeze of rose flowers of red, pink and white palettes become infused in the nectarean melodies being sung, making the garden a most joyous and serene place to meditate (http://www.jkp.org/devotion/remembrance.html) and have kirtan with Shree Maharajji, which continues throughout the day.

August and September is a time of the year when some of the most joyous Hindu Festivals are celebrated at the worldwide ashrams of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj.
There's Rakcha Bandhan August 16th, Krishn Janmashtmi August 24th and Radha Ashtmi September 7th.
Rakcha Bandhan is celebrated on the full moon day of Shravan (August) according to the Hindu calendar. Rakcha means ‘protection’ and bandhan means ‘to tie a knot.’ Rakcha Bandhan is also known as Rakhi. It has both, social and spiritual significance. As a social occasion it promotes good relations among family and friends, especially brothers and sisters. But in the spiritual sense a Spiritual Master ties a decorated thread (specially made for this occasion) around the wrist of the devotee which signifies his caring for his devotee. On this day thousands of devotees line up to receive a rakhi from Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj.
This year, Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj will celebrate Rakcha Bandhan at Rangeeli Mahal Ashram in Barsana Dham, India.

Located in a green oasis wrapped in the barren hills of Rajasthan lies the ancient city of Ajmer. Founded in 1100 AD by Aijpal Chauhan, Ajmer derives its name from `Ajaya Meru' the invincible hill, at the foot of which the present city stands. After leaving New Delhi, Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj once again set foot in this princely state where congregations have been meeting in large numbers to attend the satsang of Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj since he first came here some several decades ago.

Ajmer is a center for travelling to Pushkar, the abode of Lord Brahma, lying to its west with a temple and a scenic lake. During October and November, devotees of Lord Brahma throng in large numbers here bathe in the sacred lake.

At Radha Govind Dham, the temple of Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj in Rajasthan, satsang and discourses will continue during his stay here.

A new and exiting project being developed by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj in America is the Radha Govind Dham in Los Angeles, California. JKP L.A. is the Los Angeles Chapter of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat an international non-profit, religious, educational and charitable organization.

JKP L.A. has been active in the Los Angeles area for many years holding both ongoing regular satsang and special lecture programs. With the blessings of Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj, a new, dedicated Yog Meditation Center in the Los Angeles area is beggining.

The main U.S. center of Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj is Barsana Dham in Austin, Texas. With the Gracious blessing of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, JKP (formerly ISDL) and Barsana Dham was established by H.D. Swami Prakashanand Saraswati in 1990. At the end of 2002, these organizations were merged into a new worldwide organization called Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat.

Both, JKP and JKP, Barsana Dham, are registered nonprofit, religious, educational and charitable organizations.

Shree Kripaluji Maharaj with devotees

In the four passing years since last coming to Bhakti Dham, the birthplace of Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj, the physical appearance of this place has changed alot. A majestic temple dawns, the brilliant white marble mahal of Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj, beatific gardens and leafy green trees fluttering in the mild wind.

The beauty and ethereal charm of this Divine abode is unmissable, but two things in particular caught my attention:

1. Normally you think of an ashram as a closed campus where students study under the guidence of their Master. But here, where does the village of Mangarh end and Bhakti Dham begin? It appears as if the whole region itself is the incarnation of devotion where our Shree Kripaluji Maharaj appeared, lived, and is now freely distributing the Bliss of Radha Krishn leelas to everyone coming to Mangarh, with an open heart to receive his Grace and an open mind to conceive his teachings.

2. From first entering this Dham, I never felt like I was in someone's else's place. It could be with the grace Shree Kripaluji Maharaj himself that you don't even feel like you are in an ashram. You feel a sense of 'own-ness' in the whole Dham which is striking.

Rising early morning 4am, beautiful arti, breakfast of dalia and chai. Chanting throughout the day in the angan of Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj, echoing all through the streets and throughout the ashram buildings and the temple and everywhere. Warm familiar murmurs of 'Radhey Radhey', seemingly laced within the very fabric of the breeze, resonate within the innermost chambre of the self. I don't know what love sounds like, but the Divine timbre of 'Radhey Radhey' rippling through the body, is the closest to 'love' that this sinful soul has ever heard.

The sheer size of the place is indicative of the volume of acolytes coming here to seek spiritual guidence from Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj. Further down towards the village, a massive new dining hall is begining construction.

Kripaluji Maharaj to inaugurate new school in Kunda

Kripaluji Maharaj girls college
This week will mark the completion of a new school in the Holy city of Kunda, Uttar Pradesh. Founded by Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj, the school will be one of a number of schools founded by Kripaluji Maharaj in the district.

Pictured above is an all-girls college, Kripalu Mahila Mahavidyalay, which was inaugurated by Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj in 1998. The aim of the the school was to provide a modern education to underprivileged girls in the district.

The objectives of the new school in Kunda will follow along the same lines as the previous schools founded by Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj:
To provide its students with knowledge and attitudes that will prepare them for further education and continuing growth.
To provide a strong basic skills program.
To guide its students towards independence and self-discipline.
To respect individual and cultural differences and provide for these differences as fully as school resources allow.
To encourage creativity and provide enrichment opportunities in addition to the development of basic skills.
To provide students the opportunity to develop a high regard for health, physical development and fitness.
To incorporate appropriate learning methods that will best prepare students for any school environment and for continuing education throughout their adult lives.
To encourage community involvement on the part of its students and the active participation of their parents in the school events.

Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj at Barsana Dham
This blog being only a few weeks old, many readers may not know that Shree Kripaluji Maharaj came to the west only for the second time in 2007. This was an historical event because Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj is only the 1st Jagadguru to travel outside the Indian subcontinent. So I thought I'd share some pictures of his visit there.

For several weeks, Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj stayed at JKP Barsana Dham where he blessed, rejoyed, and delighted devotees of all ages and races with his Divinely benevolent personality.

Jagadguru Kripaluji Maharaj also graced devotees in Hong Kong, Singapore, Trinadad, Canada, and the UK.
